There is a danger in switching from a high carb or medium carb diet to a low carb diet, such as I am recommending - especially if you are taking insulin or diabetic meds which force your pancreas to produce more insulin. You could get a dangerous hypo - which means that your blood sugar drops way too low.
This is why I tell people to consult with their doctors about what they plan to do (switch to a very low-carb diet). Almost certainly you will need to lower your dosage of meds and/or insulin. If you do not do this, low blood sugar could cause you to faint (or worse). So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, test your glucose, and if you have been taking diabetic meds or insulin, make a visit to your doctor. If your glucose goes low (into the 70 mg/dl range or lower), drink a soda or some orange juice, or eat a candy bar. (I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have to say it.)
Low blood sugar is nothing to play around with. If your body is used to a high-carb diet, and then you shock it by going a day with very few carbs, and if you are also taking meds or insulin, your blood sugar will almost certain drop too low. If you feel yourself shaky or have other unusual symptoms test your blood sugar, and take the appropriate steps to raise it higher.
I am not wanting to scare you, but this has to be said. People taking insulin or powerful diabetic meds are in a different category from others, and they have to handle this with much caution!
