Partnerships in the fulfillment services industry

Partnerships in the fulfillment services industry

It’s a tough world out there and some people, even other businesses, will eat you alive. If you don’t want your company to be swimming with the fishes down with the Titanic, you need to latch onto a key word that shouldn’t just be thrown around. That word is LOYALTY.

UNLIKE HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS WHERE BETRAYALS ARE THE NORM, THIS IS THE REAL WORLD OF FULFILLMENT SERVICES AND YOU NEED TO KEEP NOT ONLY YOUR CUSTOMERS, BUT YOUR SUPPLIERS AND THOSE THAT PACK AND SHIP FOR YOU.

It’s not always easy, but it certainly helps, to find a provider with enduring relationship qualities in particular with fulfillment and logistics industry planning. No company is an island, as it’s been said. In order to supply you with the best results, order fulfillment providers must maintain strong relationships with key related service providers. There are many such key partnerships which may include shipping carriers like FedEx, UPS and USPS with who the fulfillment house should have negotiated competitive high-volume rates. If they haven’t, don’t work with them as they’ll never let you receive the benefit of those rates and the shared attention from those carriers. That’s not loyalty at all, is it?
Your fulfillment partner should also maintain strong buddy-buddy relationships with consultants and preferred vendors. You know the type. You’ll want these guys around for ancillary services like database and list management or advanced internet marketing. The stronger and broader your provider’s network of industry partners, the better positioned you’ll be to take advantage of new growth opportunities.
